By booking and using any service provided by Journey Iceland, you (the “Customer”) agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. Journey Iceland reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time without prior notice. It is the Customer’s responsibility to review the terms before each booking.

2. Booking and Confirmation Process

Booking Requirements:

To secure a booking with Journey Iceland, all necessary information, including accurate contact details, must be provided at the time of reservation. Bookings are subject to availability, and confirmations are typically issued via email.

Booking Confirmation:

Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a booking reference and itinerary. Please ensure all details are accurate and notify us promptly of any discrepancies.

3. Payment Terms

Currency and Pricing:

All prices are quoted in Icelandic Krona (ISK). Prices are subject to change and may vary due to exchange rates, seasonal fluctuations, or updated service costs.

Payment Options:

Journey Iceland offers a convenient “pay in advance or pay on arrival” option, allowing you to complete payment at the beginning of your tour or transfer service. The full amount must be paid prior to the commencement of the service, and failure to complete payment may result in the cancellation of your booking. Please be prepared with either cash or card payment, as specified during booking confirmation.

Deposit Requirements:

Some services may require a deposit to secure your booking. Deposit requirements and terms will be communicated in advance, where applicable.

4. Itinerary Modifications and Changes

By Journey Iceland:

Due to Iceland’s unpredictable weather and natural conditions, Journey Iceland reserves the right to make adjustments to itineraries, routes, or scheduled stops in the interest of customer safety and comfort. Every effort will be made to communicate changes as early as possible, and alternate options will be offered where feasible.

By Customer:

Should the Customer wish to make modifications to their booking, please contact us as soon as possible. Changes are subject to availability and may result in additional charges or adjustments to the booking.

5. Weather and Force Majeure

Journey Iceland operates tours and transfers in a unique natural environment that is subject to sudden weather changes and other natural events. In the case of unavoidable events such as severe weather, road closures, or force majeure situations that prevent the safe or timely operation of services, Journey Iceland reserves the right to modify, delay, or cancel the affected service.

6. Responsibilities and Obligations of the Customer

Timeliness:

Customers are required to adhere to the agreed meeting times and locations as specified in their booking confirmation. Journey Iceland is not liable for missed services due to late arrivals or no-shows.

Conduct and Safety:

Customers are expected to respect local customs, laws, and regulations and to follow any guidance provided by Journey Iceland personnel. Journey Iceland reserves the right to refuse service to any Customer who exhibits unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior, with no refund entitlement in such cases.

7. Liability Disclaimer

Journey Iceland and its partners, agents, or contractors shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Customers understand that certain activities may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to natural terrain, changing weather conditions, and outdoor environments. By participating in any tour or transfer, Customers accept these risks and release Journey Iceland from liability for any injury, loss, or damage sustained.

8. Property and Personal Belongings

Journey Iceland is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings during tours or transfers. Customers are advised to exercise caution and keep valuables secure. Any items left behind will be stored temporarily and may be collected by arrangement, though Journey Iceland is under no obligation to retain such items indefinitely.

9. Photographs and Media Use

Journey Iceland reserves the right to use photographs or videos taken during tours and transfers for promotional purposes. Customers who do not wish to appear in promotional material should inform us in advance.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Icelandic law. Any disputes arising in connection with Journey Iceland services shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of Icelandic courts.
